There are six ways for you to promote your business to your clients and prospects. There's retail merchandising, print advertising, radio and television media, outdoor advertising, and the website.

Let us consider some of the suggestions to make the most of your choice of promotional medium:

Print Media and Publishing
The most common and widely used medium to disseminate information is through print. You can advertise via the newspaper and magazine. You can also choose among the wide variety of marketing collaterals to promote your business, i.e. catalog printing, booklet printing, flyers, etc.

To optimize this particular form of advertising, you need to:

- avoid purchasing tiny ads; instead go for page dominance minus the full-page price. Advertising in newspapers and magazines should include half-page, two-thirds page and junior page to provide you with more exposure. With two-thirds and half-page ads, you’re most likely have the whole page for yourself and not share it with a competition.

- use color in your brochures, flyers, and booklets. Studies prove that full color print collaterals are more likely to attract attention than two- or single color print ads.

- consider a developing a ¡series¢ of your ad. You may either opt to put several of the same ads in the same position but on different sequence; or you can decide to go for a series of print ads that often tell an interesting story.

- not be afraid to ask for special treatment or extras. They might not have them but there’s no harm trying.

Television Ads
Consider doing 15-second back-to-back spots that costs more but are sure to give you the most attention because of its repeat airing. Also, you can get a cable company to advertise your business. It’s less expensive than that of the regular tv stations, while you get a more defined geographic market to promote your products. And as always, avoid placing your commercial where it will be ignored or overlooked. That’s why it’s essential for you to know the particular audience of your show or tv station.

Radio Ads
When you choose radio advertising, the most effective slot would be the commute time. Yes, it’s more costly but you’re assured of a more captive audience for your radio commercial. And since we’re talking about captive audience, purchase air time during news, weather, sports and traffic reports. These are the most likely times that an audience is already paying attention to the radio. So take advantage.

Outdoor Marketing
When done outdoors, you need to be bold, as big as you can get, and as unique to grab your clients¢ attention. Consider using 3-D effects if possible. And use lots of brilliant colors and unusual images to capture the eyes of your audience. But minimize your text. You’ll only have a few seconds to make your traveling audience read and understand your advertisement.

Websites
Web pages are the craze these days. Almost everyone has access to the internet so most people would be able to browse through your website. To generate web traffic, use as many keywords as you can. Set up links with other related websites, as well as register with other credible search engines to create buzz on your page. But be sure to have an uncluttered and clear web page for easy access and downloading. Nothing irritates a browser more than a website that takes forever to download its pages.
