Alexa Launches It's Public Access Web Crawl -
By: "The Martin Report" - Dec 19, 2005
Still in it's beta test version, Alexa now launched it's public access web crawl to allow webmasters to use their search results online.
What can this web crawl be used for?
With over 100 Terabytes of content, webmasters can use the content for directory listings, personalized search results, extensive xml feeds, and even images directories for their results.
People can now access and use this massive amount of content that is crawled by Alexa on a consistent basis. With literally millions of results to be used online, there is no limit to the amount of content someone could use through this service.
There is a catch, this information is NOT free!
In order to pull information from their servers, you will be charged a small amount per increment of information you use. For instance,
$1 per cpu hour ($0.50 for reserved but unused hours) or,
$1 per GB/year of user storage or,
$1 per GB uploaded/downloaded or,
$1 for every 4,000 user-published web service requests
